Not all of us are Julia Childs, but you don't need to be. In fact, her recipes probably wouldn't fit the Live Primal lifestyle anyway.

Do you have a favorite non-primal recipe? See the list of fuel substitutions below and you may be able to change that non-primal recipe into a primal masterpiece!

Fuel Substitues

Salt -> spices, sea salt
Vinegar -> fresh lemon or lime juice
Butter/margarine /lard/shortening/ vegetable oil -> olive oil, coconut oil
Sugar -> fruits/veggies – fruit purees, lemon juice and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, mint leaves, ginger, vanilla, other spices), raw honey, stevia
Alcohol -> occasional glass of wine or spirits; use wine to marinate meats
Rice/potatoes -> cauliflower
Pasta -> spaghetti squash, spinach
Bread/breadcrumbs -> lettuce leafs/minced mushrooms, onions, garlic (sautéed)
Snack crackers -> Celery
Ketchup -> Organic fire roasted crushed tomatoes
Flour -> Nut flours (almond, pecan, chestnut)
